Exodus from Nauvoo, the experience of Latter-day Saint pioneers crossing the plains, establishing Zion in the Great Basin, plural marriage and government persecution, the Manifesto, and events leading to Utah statehood.

Students will be able to analyze and evaluate the validity and reliability of historical source material relating to this period of church history. Students will also be able to analyze and evaluate relevant scholarship.
