Students will be able to analyze and discuss the influence of the pre-modern language on present-day Japanese.

Understanding and analyzing key premodern literary texts
Learning Outcome
Students will read and analyze the content and linguistic features of important premodern literary texts. A writing sample will be included in the individual student portfolio.
