Course Description

Examining the social and economic aspects of the rise of cities, inter-regional trade, political exchange, and imperialism in ancient Mesopotamia using primary and secondary sources. Topics include agriculture in Babylon, cities in Mesopotamia, royal courts, Assyrian trade and markets, family and kin.
