Course introduces forensic and legal linguistics. Primary goals are: understand the intersection between language and the law, learn research conducted in the field, conduct and write up analyses.

Students will be able to explain the relationships between the fields of law and linguistics and how linguistics can be used to address legal issues.

Students will be able to articulate a variety of forensic/legal linguistic theoretical, methodological, and practical problems as well as potential solutions.
